College Entrance exams
Every student will have the opportunity to take a college entrance exam paid by the State. As of Spring 2022, the State no longer requires students to complete a college entrance exam for graduation. However, students are encouraged to take a college entrance exam, either the SAT or ACT, particularly if they are planning to attend college.
Studies show that when students spend at least 20 hours in targeted SAT preparation using Khan Academy, they see an increase of 115 points in their score. Inspire offers a SAT Prep course that utilizes Khan Academy, or you may do on your own using the Khan Academy website (free service). If you link your College Board and Khan Academy accounts, you can target your areas of improvement.
Below are the 2023-24 test dates for both the SAT and ACT. To register, you will need our school code. Inspire's high school code for ACT and SAT is 130089.

PSAT / NMSQT Information
The PSAT/NMSQT is held in October each year. There is no fee for 10th graders participating in the exam. Juniors must pay to participate (fee changes each year; the fee has been $18 in previous years).
One benefit to taking the PSAT as a sophomore and as a junior is to practice for the April SAT. For juniors, there is an extra benefit in that the October PSAT as an 11th grader qualifies you for the National Merit Scholarship.
Please reach out to Ms. Mandolyn Garcia, Inspire's testing coordinator, if you have any questions or concerns.
